I support folks longing for greater health, wellness and wholeness through somatic oriented psychotherapy. I provide a supportive atmosphere where you can feel free to listen within yourself without any pressures or judgment. I will help you to welcome whatever comes, and support you as you discover steps of change you want to take in your life, opening to more and more of your authentic soul self. Opportunities to engage in transformational community include: an ecotherapy group where we engage in nature based healing, a seasonal women's sacred space full of presence, embodiment, feminine ritual and sisterhood and a clinical supervision group- a fun, supportive crew of helping professionals that meet to deepen their capacities as healing artists. I am available for individual or group therapy and clinical supervision. We can meet in person at Terre Madre Retreat or virtually via zoom. Reach out with any questions!

I find that I work best with those who are looking for a change from the extremely clinical-feeling approach to therapy. I believe therapy shouldn't feel hierarchical, nor alienating- you and I are on the same level here. We’re collaborating to help you reach a point in your life where you feel stable and content. I’m not here to judge you or tell you what to do, but rather to work as a friendly voice to help you connect missing pieces and wade through life’s challenges with more confidence. I've had many successes treating those with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, BPD and several other acronyms that are on a bulleted list below. And of course, fellow queers. More plainly, I work well with people who like a direct approach and a conversational-feeling session. I don't want to talk at you for 50 minutes or vice versa, I want to work together! Reaching out can be scary and pretty awkward. I like to think I'm not scary, but maybe awkward in an endearing way. If calling isn't your thing, email or text me. I promise to make it as painless as possible.

View 6 Photos My training has equipped me to work with many populations acknowledging the meaning and influence of development and diversity in therapy. Christian faith informs my practice and I welcome integration of your faith experience in therapy. There is an inspiring resilience in children and I believe in the value of creating safety through art and play. With years of experience serving both individuals and family systems, I have addressed a vast array of symptoms related to mental health concerns. Some of these have consisted of anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, substance abuse, trauma, and family conflict. Laurell K. Hamilton states "There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds". These wounds can develop from both our environmental influences or even within our own minds. Sometimes these wounds can be ignored for weeks, months, years, and even between generations. My specialties lie in the individual setting, working with children ages 6+, adolescents, and adults. My approaches consist of an integration of Psychodyamic Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. If you have found yourself struggling with any of the aforementioned experiences and are looking for someone to empower and guide your inner strengths, I would embrace the opportunity to help. YOU have the power to start HEALING TODAY.

Hello! I'm glad you're here. I think it was John Lennon who said, "Life is what happens while we're making other plans." As a woman leader at mid-life, you may be coping with transitions that are harder than expected. A challenging career. A big move. Getting used to an empty nest or helping aging parents. Even managing success can be pretty tough - right? Sometimes, it gets to the best of us. We find ourselves overwhelmed, burned out or just a little lost. But know this: you can get help. You will find your footing again. And this is a good place to start. If you're looking for someone who nods their head and says, "Uhm hmmmm", I'm probably not the right therapist for you. But if you value someone who'll tell you what they think, AND support your dreams, ideas and desires - we should talk. I know you need feedback you can trust. My guess is, you also need a safe place to speak freely. We'll start with a Deep Dive Consult, a special initial visit my clients tell me they love. For details, plus easy online scheduling, click the Services tab on my counseling website at www.counselingwithwendy.com. Thank you - I can’t wait to talk to you!
